Technical Program Manager / Agile Champion
Location: Phoenix, AZ - Hybrid
Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Program Manager (TPM) / Agile Champion to drive end-to-end delivery of strategic technology initiatives. This role combines technical program leadership with deep Agile expertise — facilitating cross-team coordination, orchestrating Program Increment (PI) Planning, and coaching teams in Lean-Agile practices. The ideal candidate brings American Express experience and a track record of delivering complex enterprise programs within financial services. Minimum Qualifications · Experience: 8–12+ years in technical program management or project management, with 3+ years in an Agile Champion or Scrum Master capacity · Agile Expertise: Deep knowledge of Agile/Scrum/SAFe/Lean methodologies; hands-on experience facilitating PI Planning and working within Agile Release Trains · Certifications: Current CSM, PMP-ACP, or SAFe Agilist certification required · Technical Depth: Ability to engage in technical design discussions and understand engineering concepts · Tooling: Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Rally, or similar Agile management platforms · Industry: Financial services technology background preferred
