Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java/Python/Node & React)

  • Job Title: Java FS Developer
  • Location: Hybrid – South San Francisco, CA (3 days onsite/week)
  • Duration: 6 Months (with possible extension)
  • Client: Gspann / Twist Bioscience

 

Mandatory Technical Skills

  • Languages: Java, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Frontend: React.
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and Drone CI.
  • Architecture: Deep understanding of Microservices and system integrations.

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a versatile Senior Full Stack Engineer to maintain and enhance a multi-repository e-commerce platform and internal tools for Twist Bioscience. This role requires a high degree of technical flexibility, as you will work across multiple backend languages (Java, Python, Node.js) and a modern React/TypeScript frontend. You will be responsible for building scalable microservices, managing containerized deployments on AWS EKS, and ensuring seamless payment integrations within a fast-paced biotech environment.

 

Key Responsibilities & Required Skills

Polyglot Backend & API Development

  • Multi-Stack Engineering: Design and implement RESTful APIs using Java, Python, and Node.js based on project requirements.
  • API Governance: Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • Payment Systems: Integrate and maintain secure payment processing systems, specifically Stripe.
  • Legacy & Integration: Utilize Ruby on Rails (plus) and integrate with Salesforce APIs (SFDC) to ensure cross-platform data flow.

 

Frontend & UI Excellence

  • Modern UI: Build highly responsive and performant user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
  • Micro-Frontends: Manage and develop features across multiple repositories while maintaining design consistency.

 

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

  • Containerization: Work with Docker and manage large-scale deployments on Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
  • CI/CD Mastery: Configure and maintain automated deployment pipelines using Drone CI.
  • AWS Ecosystem: Leverage AWS services including S3, WAF, and Bedrock; monitor application performance and debug via logging and metrics tools.
