Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join the Technology Risk Division of a prominent financial institution in a hybrid role in Dallas, TX. This position is instrumental in modernizing data systems and consolidating data into Snowflake to support firmwide liquidity and risk metric calculations. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of hands-on experience with AWS (not Azure), be highly proficient in Python and advanced SQL, and understand workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow. Given the client is Goldman Sachs, strong soft skills and a polished personality are crucial.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer working with large-scale data systems.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering and workflow automation.
- Advanced skills in writing complex SQL queries, especially for data migration into Snowflake.
- Good understanding of Apache Airflow for scheduling and orchestration.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for Python-dominated ecosystems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions (soft skills are a priority).
- Experience in the financial services, banking, or healthcare sectors is highly preferred.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Amazon MWAA (Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow).
- Prior experience with, or interest in learning, the proprietary programming language Slang Infrastructure.
