| Social Innovation Lecture Series presents 5th talk on For-profit vs non-profit models in social innovation
Speaker: Mr Rahul Alex Panicker (President and Co-founder of Embrace Innovations) Rahul has been President and Co-founder of Embrace Innovations, a social enterprise startup that designs and brings to market healthcare technologies for the developing world, starting with their famous low-cost "Embrace infant warmer", costing less than 1% of a traditional incubator, and which is currently being distributed across clinics in India, and over 15 developing countries. He is also a member of the FICCI Health Innovation Task Force in India. Starting 2016, he is exploring and speaking about the potential impact of AI and what societies can do to prepare for the future, including at TEDx IIT Kharagpur. Rahul holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), India. He is also an alumnus of the design school at Stanford

| Seminar and Panel Discussion on Solid Waste Management: Situation, Needs and Priorities in India
Aim is to network with all stakeholders to help initiate useful projects, start‐ups etc in Sanitation space. This workshop is part of a campaign of Venture Center to nucleate and nurture Sanitation related startups in the Pune region. The workshop is aligned intentionally with the announcement of funding program so as to help facilitate startup creation.
Workshop aims to: Ø Get an overview of key issues/ challenges and emerging opportunities Ø Explore potential industry‐academia/research partnerships in technology development and advancement. Ø Foster networks with industry/academic experts/doctors/entrepreneurs Ø Introduce upcoming funding opportunities like the BIRAC‐SPARSH-SIIP call for Sanitation.
