Ihave just updated from version 26 to version 28, and I tried to run the plugins which worked before with version 26, a few of them in fact. Now however, have a question mark in front, and they give the same error: "The File Amos-fit contains syntax errors".
The variable names do not have underscore, but from a previous thread, I understand there were problems with version 27, which I believe remain not resolved at the moment.
AMOS 28 has changed some background code that I'm still trying to resolve. I just met with a graduate student today who will help me look into making these plugins compatible with version 28 if possible. It may be a few weeks though, as he gets up to speed. As for that specific error, check out the troubleshooting tips here: =Plugins#Troubleshooting
I thank you for the information on this issue. My problem is the University I am working does not have Amos, therefore I am finding myself obliged to pay for Faculty License once a year. The License is only for the current version of SPSS and Amos, I could not keep my version 26 running, but it was only valid for version 28. I am trying to download version 26 as trial version, in order to run the plugins, but it will expire in a month nonetheless. I will wait with finger crossed, if the plugin can updated to version 28.
Sorry. That's a tough situation. Luckily all analyses can be run without the plugins, except HTMT and J-N Plots. Nevertheless, I'll do my best to get the plugins for version 28 working as soon as possible.
I am having the same problem. I have the 28 version and installed the master validity plugin for version 26. "question mark in front, and they give the same error: "The File Amos-fit contains syntax errors".
Have you already have the plugins for version 28?
Thank you very much.
Unfortunately the research assistant I had working on these switched jobs. The same happened again with the next research assistant. My current research assistant is hopefully going to resolve this issue this month. In the meantime, the excel stats tools package on the homepage of statwiki could be used.
