Hi
I'm interested in building a reprap. I would really like to see one of these machines in action before I jump in. Is it possible for me to see your machine? Also would yoube able to print a set of the parts is so any idea of cost??

Thanks
Jason

Both the Darwin and the Mendel are at Brisbane Hackerspace.
Only the Mendel is operational at this moment.

James Churchill at HSBNE would be the person to ask.

Cheers,
Arjen.

The hackerspace is open tonight (and every tuesday night) from around
6pm, so if you want to come check out the mendel you're more than
welcome. It's at 10 Light St, Fortitude Valley - the big warehouse at
the corner of Light and Hynes St.

The Mendel has already printed multiple children, although you'll have
to ask one of the other guys exactly how much that cost - I haven't
done it myself yet.

(The Darwin isn't really worth reviving, so I'm planning on
transplanting all the useful bits into another Mendel when I have the
time.)

Members of the Hsbne group get to print for themselves on the Mendel at-cost, after getting basic training in its use. The plastic generally will cost approximately $50 ish for a whole Mendel, but it will need a fair bit of your time. Retail (on eBay)for the same thing is approximately $300. Membership is $60 per month+ first few visits are free.
