Hi,

I have tried to setup Repos Server on my local WinXP machine.

I am connected to a Domain XXXXXX.local

how do I type this into the Server Name when I am installing it?

Can I usse Repos Server if I don't have a website http://www.mycompany.com?

It is only required to be used localy within the company (intranet)

Hi,

What happens when you type your .local address in the hostname box
during the installation? I haven't tested the installer with that type
of hostname, but it should be ok. It does not have to be a
www.example.com domain -- all you need is a hostname or IP that all
clients (and the sever) on your network can use to access the server.

If you want to change the hostname after installation you can do so in
the host config in the admin folder.

Hi Steffan,

thank you for your prompt reply.

Firefox displays the following error when intall Repos Server with XXXXXX.local as the server:

www.xxxxxx.local could not be found. Please check the name and try again.

I have been working on setting up subversion for quite some time now. I started out with installing Apache, Subversion and TortoiseSVN as sepeate packages and was able to access the repository as  https://10.10.10.2/Repositories/project1

I wouldn't mind even if you could help me to set up Repos Server with this method.

Kind Regards,

Sam

Hi,

Sorry for the late answer. I've been on vacation.

To clarify, if you type http://x.local/ in your address bar you get
the error www.x.local could not be found in firefox? That would mean
you get a redirect and we should try to figure out why.
