That setup sounds fine to me.  The majority of the work is disk I/O.  You don't need to disable any apache modules really.  You will probably want the apache rewrite module so you can serve OS-specific catalogs based upon their OS version.  Other than that, reposado is not that demanding and doesn't require a ton of resources.
