Limit updates to High Sierra/Mojave only?

Is there a proper way to limit updates to High Sierra/Mojave only? I set the strings below in preferences.plist but reposado has still downloaded > 250GB of files including updates for things like Java for 10.6 and OS X Mavericks developer previews?

You can (and appears, have) limit the catalogs you sync.

What updates Apple puts into those catalogs is up to Apple, and as you've seen, there's a lot of extra junk in them. Not much that can be done about that other than reserving/allocating enough storage.
