There are no problems on the googlesource.com service end that we are aware of. HTTP 407 usually means there is a forward proxy (e.g. between your company's intranet and the internet) that you need to provide authentication for.

Hi,
I'm trying to download the source Tree, following the instruction mentioned here.
In "Initializing the repo client" section:
"$ repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest"

giving me some error.
fatal: Cannot get http://gerrit.googlesource.com/git-repo/clone.bundle
fatal: HTTP error 407

I tried setting HTTP_PROXY and also HTTPS_PROXY, but no luck.
Now I visited "http://gerrit.googlesource.com/git-repo/clone.bundle" and it says "Not found"

Is the repository deleted?
How can I get it?

Thank you.

In Git, you may want to check your .gitconfig -- specifically, http.proxy and https.proxy.  Because we use an NTLM authentication type proxy, I use NTLMAPS (http://ntlmaps.sourceforge.net/) locally to proxy the proxy and authenticate cleanly, and only listen to localhost and start it as needed.

My .gitconfig:
[http]
        proxy = http://127.0.0.1:5865
[https]
        proxy = http://127.0.0.1:5865

If Dave is correct and it is a proxy authentication issue, hopefully this will help.

Repo will gracefully degrade if clone.bundle isn't found, i.e. it's
totally fine that http://gerrit.googlesource.com/git-repo/clone.bundle
returns a 404. Are you still having problems even though you got past
the 407 problem by setting the proxy varibles?

The problem is: some applications allows the proxy settings in CAPS and some small letters.
I set in both the formats and its working fine.
