Getting 403 - Forbidden when accessing accounts/self with Basic Auth header

Hi,

I'm currently trying to debug an issue with the VS Code Plugin for Gerrit (https://github.com/SanderRonde/VSCode-Gerrit/) which gets errors during the call to .../accounts/self.

We host our Gerrit under a path (<host>/r) so the full url is <host>/r/a/accounts/self.

The endpoint works in a authenticated browser or via curl if I supply "--cookie 'GerritAccount=<token>' but not if I send the basic auth header with it.

We have Gerrit 3.8.2 currently running. Is this a known issue or even "by-design"? Other endpoints below /a work fine with basic auth

This is not by design and this issue is not reproducible, for me at least.

Why don't you set a breakpoint in the filter where the basic auth is performed and see why the error occurs?
