Gerrit Owner Plugin

Hi,

I’m reaching out regarding the Gerrit Owner plugin, which looks very promising, but I’m running into a few issues I haven’t been able to resolve through the available documentation.

Our project is quite large, with around twelve different guardian areas, each represented by its own Gerrit group. I’ve configured the Owner file at the project level and assigned the appropriate guardian groups. The UI correctly identifies the guardians for the various files, but it appears to limit the number of displayed users to five. This seems to be controlled by a global Gerrit configuration, which I unfortunately don’t have access to.

I’ve also investigated whether there is a way to avoid expanding groups in the UI and instead display only the guardian areas. The only relevant option I found appears to be a system-level setting as well, and I’m unsure whether adjusting it would fully address the issue.

Could you please clarify whether this behavior is a limitation of the Owner plugin? And if so, would it be possible to adjust these settings on a per‑project basis?

By quickly looking at the code, it looks like the amount of users shown is hardcoded to 5 and not configurable.

Are you referring to `expandGroups` section? When you say  "display only the guardian areas", what exactly do you define as guardian area?

I don't believe these are adjustable on a per-project basis currently. Doesn't mean it wouldn't be possible to do, but that would most likely require some further conversation with the maintainers of that plugin(disclaimer, I work for the company that is most actively developing it, GerritForge).
