How to enable git protocol version 2

Hi everyone ,i'm currently testing gerrit 2.16 dev and i'm trying to fiugure out how to enable git protocol version 2 ?

I have changed repo configuration ( server side) ,added :

[protocol]

version = 2

and same on client side ( in .gitconfig ) ,but I did not see an increase in performance.Did i do something wrong ?

Gerrit does not support "git protocol version 2" yet, but there's a WIP patch https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/c/gerrit/+/197252

Support for git protocol version 2 was submitted, and will be included in gerrit version 2.16.
