Upgrade Path from Gerrit 3.6.1 to 3.9.x

Hi All,

I am planning to upgrade our Gerrit instance from version 3.6.1 to 3.9.x and would appreciate some guidance on the upgrade workflow.

Specifically, I am seeking advice on whether it is necessary to upgrade through each minor version incrementally, or if it is possible to skip certain versions without encountering issues.

Your expertise and recommendations on this matter would be greatly valued.

The recommended upgrade path is always go to the latest patch version of each minor version before go to the next.

Ex. 3.6.1 >> 3.6.x >> 3.7.x >> 3.8.x >> 3.9.x

Always read each version release notes to confirm if any prerequisit needs to be addressed, breaking changes, etc, before each step of the upgrade.

If you are willing to jump to v3.10, you can do all in one go and without any downtime :-)
