Hello,

I am trying to push tags to gerrit and most of the tags are rejected. (somehow 25 managed to be pushed)

the access settings are:

[access "refs/tags/*"]
	read = group Event Streaming Users
	push = +force group Event Streaming Users
	pushTag = +force group Event Streaming Users
	pushSignedTag = group Event Streaming Users
	create = group Event Streaming Users

here is the error that i get

git push origin milestone-2.1s4.3
Counting objects: 1, done.
Writing objects: 100% (1/1), 212 bytes, done.
Total 1 (delta 0), reused 1 (delta 0)
remote: Processing changes: refs: 1, done
 ! [remote rejected] milestone-2.1s4.3 -> milestone-2.1s4.3 (prohibited by Gerrit)
error: failed to push some refs to 'ssh://te...@155.122.122.232:29418/gerrit_main'

here is the config file of my repo

[core]
repositoryformatversion = 0
filemode = true
bare = false
logallrefupdates = true
[remote "origin"]
url = ssh://test@155.122.122.232:29418/gerrit_main
        fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/heads/*

I tried also adding this line to the config (in addition to the given above)

        fetch = +refs/tags/*:refs/tags/*

Any suggestion how to proceed?

Thanks!

For being allowed to push lightweight tags you also need to have the Create Reference permission [1] of refs/tags/*.
There are also some other conditions under which you can get this error when pushing tags. These are documented here [2].
