Dear Gerrit Community,

After an incredible 15 years working on Gerrit Code Review, with 10 years at Google and 5 years at SAP, the time has come for me to move on to a new challenge. I'll be transitioning to an AI-focused role within Google.

I'm immensely grateful for the journey with Gerrit. Serving as a maintainer, community manager, and member of the Engineering Steering Committee has been a privilege. I've truly enjoyed engaging with all of you, collaborating on features, participating in community events, and helping shape Gerrit into the product it is today.

One of the best parts of this experience has been the people. Many of you have become good friends over the years, and I will deeply miss our collaborations and interactions.

While I'm excited about this new opportunity, I'll look back on my time with the Gerrit project with great fondness. I am confident that Gerrit will continue to thrive, thanks to this amazing community and the dedicated team at Google.

Thank you all for the fantastic support, trust, and collaboration over so many years. I'm looking forward to crossing paths again in the future.

I wish the project and everyone in the community all the very best.

Thank you for welcoming me back into the Gerrit Community in 2011. I remember the first GitTogether where we met and were sitting together, you, Martin, Peff, and me.

Thanks for the over 18k changes merged into the project and a stunning 1.2M lines of code over 81 (!!) projects, meticulously developed over the years … all made with “natural intelligence.”

But most of all, thanks for your friendship during happy and sad times, after the loss of Shawn.

I don't have the words to express how big of an impact you've had on this project, all the people involved, and the many many end users. We will all be missing you and I wish you all the best with the new opportunity.

Grateful for getting to know you in the community and at hackathons over the years.
Grateful for your patience, guidance and cooperation.
Grateful for the calm and perceptive analysis that you apply to everything you are part of.
As stated before, your impact on the Gerrit community and Gerrit itself could not be overstated.

Hey Edwin,

I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your contributions to Gerrit and for always being so approachable.

I’ll never forget the first hackathon I attended in Lun. I was trying to implement my very first Gerrit plugin and probably asking what felt like an infinite stream of newbie questions. You answered every single one with patience and kindness (and somehow made it look easy).

That experience meant a lot, and it says a lot about the kind of contributor and person you are.

You’ll definitely be missed.
