Hi,

I have recently downloaded aosp code for 4.4.4 branch. I was able to build successfully for my device :).

I was using my office laptop to build it - using virtual box and ubuntu 14.04 LTS as guest os.

Problem is - I am leaving my current job and will have to surrender the office laptop. As good internet is sparse in my location and I dont want to go through downloading nightmare, I am searching for way to archive my current repo.

My current plan is to :

1. Tar and gzip ".repo" folder and backup it on some personal computer.
2. When I get my own desktop PC, I will install ubuntu on it and will intar this tar to get the ".repo" folder.

Will this approach work ? I need to be sure as I can not afford to loose this repo and in no mood to repo sync all over again due to costly internet.

Yes, you would need to run repo sync -l to recreate the working trees.

FWIW, in the past, I've preferred to only copy .repo/projects/ instead of all of .repo/. This has worked well.
