I'm not able to open a bug report on the issue tracker, but we are seeing the following issue:

Environment

  • Gerrit: 3.12.2-27-gcf7d13a276

  • Browser: Firefox 143.0.4 (fresh profile, no extensions), macOS. Also reported on Linux.

  • Reproducible on Unified and Side-by-side diff views

  • Happens in new inline comment and editing existing draft

  • No errors in DevTools Console

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In a diff, open an inline comment and type multiple lines.

  2. Select the entire last line.

  3. Press Backspace.

Expected: The selected last line is deleted.
Actual: Nothing happens. (Workaround: add a trailing newline first, then Backspace works.)

Notes

  • Partial selections within the last line delete correctly.

  • Chrome/Edge do not reproduce.

I believe Paladox fixed this here:
https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/c/gerrit/+/511921
It has since been merged up into 3.12 and should be part of the latest stable-3.12 (v3.12.2-59-g99c41d6a4e and newer, I think)
