Heads up!  AllStarLink.org just released ASL3 (beta)!  They're calling it beta, but it is VERY stable.  I've been running this for months on voter nodes and hotspot nodes.

See their release announcement here:  https://community.allstarlink.org/t/asl3-beta-announcement/21240

Below is my own summary of what they are releasing:

  • Complete Pi image that works on Pi 3,4,5 & Zero
  • Runs on any virtual or physical x86_64/amd64 and arm64/aarch64 platform
  • Built on the latest Asterisk LTS version and Debian/Raspbian distributions
  • Read the line above again ^^^ , this is an upgrade from Asterisk 1.4 to version 20 (and beyond)
  • Easy install guide / manual with step-by-step instructions https://allstarlink.github.io/user-guide/install/
  • Simple upgrades any time with “apt upgrade” command (no more breaking due to dahdi)
  • Refactored/rewritten app_rpt with numerous enhancements
  • Built in landing page for quick access to Allmon3, ASL3 manual and Cockpit device management
  • Allmon3 pre-configured and ready to use (can still use older Allmon or Supermon)
  • Command line switching between devel, beta and main (stable) distributions
  • Enhanced ASL setup menu for node configuration (including multi-node and multi-device configs)
  • Enhanced SA818 setup menu for SA818 based hats & dongles
  • Auto-configuration of most USB sound cards and SA818 devices
  • Super simplified rpt.conf for multi-node configurations (can be done from menu or manually)
  • HTTP based registration (also still supports legacy IAX registration)
  • DNS based node name resolution (also still supports legacy file lookup)
