Heads up!
AllStarLink.org just released ASL3 (beta)! They're calling it
beta, but it is VERY stable. I've been running this for months on voter
nodes and hotspot nodes.

Below is my own summary of what they are
releasing:
- Complete
Pi image that works on Pi 3,4,5 & Zero
- Runs on
any virtual or physical x86_64/amd64 and arm64/aarch64 platform
- Built on
the latest Asterisk LTS version and Debian/Raspbian distributions
- Read the
line above again ^^^ , this is an upgrade from Asterisk 1.4 to version 20
(and beyond)
- Easy

- Simple
upgrades any time with “apt upgrade” command (no more breaking due to
dahdi)
- Refactored/rewritten
app_rpt with numerous enhancements
- Built in
landing page for quick access to Allmon3, ASL3 manual and Cockpit device

- Allmon3
pre-configured and ready to use (can still use older Allmon or Supermon)
- Command
line switching between devel, beta and main (stable) distributions
- Enhanced
ASL setup menu for node configuration (including multi-node and
multi-device configs)
- Enhanced
SA818 setup menu for SA818 based hats & dongles
- Auto-configuration
of most USB sound cards and SA818 devices
- Super
simplified rpt.conf for multi-node configurations (can be done from menu
or manually)
- HTTP
based registration (also still supports legacy IAX registration)
- DNS
based node name resolution (also still supports legacy file lookup)
