Notone to rest on his success, Daud is currently developing a feature film that will be shooting soon. Also, on the day he is launching this film, he is premiering a brand new music video for musician Nigel Stanford entitled, Cymatics. Check it out. Amazingly, all the effects in it are real!

Released on YouTube on March 15, 2020, Daud doesn't just mark Rysa's directorial debut, it also happens to star family friend Shanaya Kapoor's brother, Jahaan Kapoor. Shot primarily in Mumbai's St Andrews Ground, the seven-and-a-half minute film takes audiences into the world of a young girl hailing from the slums of Mumbai, who sells pencils for money, but has always dreamed of being a runner. Life takes a positive turn when three youngsters, played by Samaira Kapur, Jahaan Kapur, and friend Dhaniti Parekh, spot the young girl practicing her track skills, and decide to help her realise her dreams.

Adding another interesting element to Daud is how Rysa Panday manages to capture the young girl's evolving relationship with her mother, who initially seems devastated at the thought of her daughter compromising on her livelihood for her passion, but eventually comes to support her in her aspirations. Watch it below.

'David' tells the story of Daud, an eleven year old religious Muslim boy growing up in Brooklyn. Concealing his Muslim identity, Daud inadvertently befriends a group of Jewish boys who through a haphazard sequence of events mistake him for being Jewish and accept him as one of their own. A genuine bond of friendship is formed between Daud and Yoav, on of the Jewish boys; Daud experiences a sense of freedom, joy, and camaraderie that he has never felt before, and for a brief time enjoys being a carefree eleven year old Brooklyn boy. When the Jewish boys discover Daud's true identity, Daud's world is shattered and he is left alone, struggling to come to terms with his place in the world.

Joel Fendelman has spent the last 7 years in Brooklyn producing and directing award winning films. His feature debut documentary "Needle Through Brick" won the Silver Palm award at the Mexico International Film Festival. In developing the script for "David", Joel spent a year immersed in both the orthodox Jewish and conservative Muslim neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The two lead actors are kids from the neighborhood and the film was shot entirely in Bay Ridge and Borough Park. Based loosely on Joel's experience of growing up Jewish in Miami "David" was created with the intention of exploring themes of identity and the struggle to fit in.

Throughout the film at various intervals there is Hispanic guitar music and vocals playing. This mirrors the setting of the Dominican republic as well as helping the film to remain upbeat. Interestingly at the end where Augusto is in the airport waiting for Savannah (the girlfriend) we are kept on hold to whether she is coming to meet him or not; the music accompanying the piece appears to be slower and sadder however it gets a sudden positive push when we see her. This is all done by the acting of the characters on the screen which determine to mood of the music.

We join Jamie Walsh in her living room making this an awkward Three's company episode where we discuss implied storytelling, intention and whether our favorite episodes of Buffy got referenced in Jane Schoenbrun's sophomore film.

the third and final(?) of ram gopal varma's increasingly eccentric variations on the "love on the run" theme, started with the thrown gauntlet of kshana kshanam, continued with the eccentric and likable anaganaga oka roju (a film with many pleasures, but i might say my personal favorite bhramanadam performance, which is no small feat), and brought into the hindi film world in daud, complete with sholay references.

1. RGV masterclass.

2. Absolute peak form of Urmila, Dutt, Paresh Rawal and Ashish Vidyarthi.

3. The OST.

4. Ths absolute balls on RGV to make a story like this work (it shouldn't but it does) and to top it off with beautifully shot scenery at remote locations.

RGV peppers the movie with a lot of sarcastic one liners..The premise is a silly goose chase..the highlight is of course the songs,Paresh Rawal at his psychotic yet comical best and the delicious Urmila Matondkar :-)

When my C7 was delivered I drove it home which was 50 miles from the dealer. I brought it home so I could give it a complete wash after which I clay barred the entire car then drove it to the clear bra shop. They washed it again before applying it.

As mention in other posts the most important thing is to find a competent installer. Both Xpel and 3M certify installers they have a list of shops with certified installers on their respective websites.

So for those concerned about finding a good installer or reliable shop to get your protection film installed, most reputable film brands provide a certified installer on their respective websites. Make sure to look out for those in your local area. If you want to ensure your car is protected while driving to an installer, XPEL also sells a DIY/temporary solution known as TRACWRAP. This product can also be used on the race track for more front end protection at speed from rocks and rubber. They discuss it more here.

So what do you think? Will this convince you to get your C8 paint protected? If I had a Sebring Orange example, it would be a terrible sight if I ever started to see the front end chipped or damaged from rocks and debris. Head over to THIS THREAD to share your opinion and experiences with paint protection film.

In a fictional story about the challenging relationship between religious Muslims and Jews, writer-director Joel Fendelman manages to avoid stereotyping and over-simplifying both communities in his debut feature, David.

Fendelman captures the fearlessness and impartialness of childhood candidly, and even when the film touches on ideas like patriarchy and arranged marriage, it does so without feeling contrived or biased. David is honest and relatable, and ultimately triggers a response of tolerance and compassion.

This research is focused on how the volumetric properties and performance tests for asphalt concrete are influenced by the 100 % replacement of coarse natural aggregates with basic oxygen furnace (BOF) slag. A statistical analysis was conducted to explore whether the replacement of coarse natural aggregate with basic oxygen furnace slag would increase the moisture sensitivity and reduce the strength of asphalt concrete. According to the results of the mixture design, except for the basic oxygen furnace slag asphalt mixture with upper gradation curve, the film thicknesses are from 6 to 9?m. However, performance tests, especially the moisture sensitivity and creep test, show that the lack of film thickness and void in mineral aggregate did not adversely affect the durability of asphalt concrete. Based on the results of the mixture design and the performance tests, complete replacement of coarse natural aggregates with basic oxygen furnace slag in asphalt concrete is considered feasible and worthy of further study.

"Yi Tian" speaks about the struggles of a young Singaporean girl, Xin Yi who seeks acceptance not only from her parents but her newfound faith, Islam. The mother daughter relationship is the centre of the constant inner struggles both have to go through and how a simple meal can uncover so many hidden feelings and anger.

Director Statement:

There's something about watching a film that has roots in a true story. It has the power to add emotional impact and continue engaging with audiences, leaving them wanting more. This film tells a real-life story of a local Chinese lady's conversion to Islam, and how her conversion has posed challenges to her faith. From struggling to seek acceptance from her parents on the conversion, to the death of her father. This will make many ponder, how does one seek refuge in a religion that your loved ones do not approve of? The message that I would like to add is it takes time to change and understand our situations and differences. It's also important to talk about these issues. We are a young nation still learning and adapting as we go.

Abstract: The tenth chapter expands the discussion of the digital realm of sound production in Indian cinema towards the ensuing surround sound revolution. The spatial aspect of surround sound mixing and reproduction is becoming a key element in contemporary film production. As interest in Indian cinema flourishes via a healthy distribution market, both locally and globally, fostered by OTT platforms, the implementation of spatial audio innovations such as Dolby Atmos needs to be upheld to maintain this resurgent audience. In this chapter, representative Indian films that have been using spatial audio from 5.1 to the present era of Dolby Atmos are discussed to study their mimetic approach to site-specificity and the spatial awareness such films encourage.
