Come tour a Mid-Century Modern California Ranch on Des Moines’ north side. The owners will discuss their goal of evolving their house to fit their lifestyle while still maintaining the spirit of the architecture. They’ve outgrown the carport and require more space for 2 cars, 4 motorcycles, and the other garage-dwelling things a homeowner acquires.

Their challenge is to figure out how to build what they need while meeting city codes, staying true to the Mid-Century Modern style, and not breaking the bank. This presentation and tour will include the blueprints from when the house was build, 3D renderings of the proposed garage, and some of the fun quirks of this unique house.

The homeowner is also in the midst of a restoration project on two large sliding glass doors. That work was inspired by a windows workshop that the club hosted last year.
