Would you like to help save some historic tile for re-use in a community kitchen? The Mickle Center is rehabbing the kitchen in their basement and they could use some help! This building is a contributing structure to the Sherman Hill Historic District, so the rehab will retain as much of the historic character of the building as possible while updating the kitchen to modern use (like for food truck cooks!)

Saturday, April 23 between 10:00 and 2:00, they need help taking up ceramic tiles and cleaning off the old adhesive. Jack Porter says: "I have taken up a few just using a 4” putty knife and a knee pad without much damage to the tiles. It's not real hard work, but is time consuming because I also cleaned each tile using a scrub brush."

Questions? Call Jack at (515) 681-2668.
