Have you tried the new WSL2 under WinX?

I've been using the original WSL since it came out. Personally, I've been disappointed in it. The only distros it runs reliably is Debian and Kali.

However, today I enabled WSL2 and I must say that it seems much more robust. Being an actual Linux kernel running in a VM makes all the difference!
