Hi all!

I am working on resuscitating the Reno Linux Users Group. I would like
to keep as much of the history as possible. To that end, I am trying to
hunt down copies of the old Reno LUG logo that Sebastion Smith created
in August of 2006 that appear to have been lost to time.

Per https://mail-archive.com/rl...@rlug.org/msg04322.html it was hosted
on his UNR share and perhaps attached via email. The share was
snapshotted by the Internet Archive in 2008 but is inaccessible.

If anyone has a copy, I would appreciate if they could share.

As an aside, I've set up a Signal chat for the group. It's available via

I currently organize the Tokyo Linux Users Group and have found Signal
to be the most popular chat platform for members there compared to IRC
or Matrix. We can discuss an alternative primary chat venue as needed.

I'd love to talk to any previous members about the history of the group
and ensure it carries forward.

That was fast, thanks so much Reggie! By the way, could you set the
mailing list permissions so I can approve new members on the mailing
list? I'm starting to invite people to it now / promote the group so
there may be a bit of an influx of new members impending.

This is Johnny Lau and I am in!

We need to find a location for the meeting too or just do online meetings but face to face meeting once in a while is good.

1. I am waiting for Yard house grand opening at Legend - may be they can offer a free space 

2. Reno public market place - upstairs

3. I was going to offer Milan Institute but we closed down the IT portion of the school

4. Reno technology academy is closed now too - I used to tech there and now they have equipment to sell

5. The church has some rooms there and the Pastor is on vacation so I have to wait if they can offer me a room free for our our meeting

6. Who has connection with Washoe school technology school such as Hug High or the one over by Mill St / Energy way?

6. Any other ideas?

Even though I don’t live in Reno anymore, I would be interested in a virtual meeting, once in a while.  I don’t get to speak nerd enough these days.

Back when I was doing community organizing the Washoe County Libraries have free meeting rooms, but the hours aren't the most convenient. 

And Total Wine on South Virginia had a free meeting room. It was quite nice and they are open in the evenings (or were).

I'm moving out of state, but I'm cheering on the resurrection of the RLUG!
