On Day 1, of the Tour de Nez bike race, a former Olympian and nationally
known bike law advocate is coming to Reno. He'll talk with all of us,
and law enforcement, about the growing threats to safety on our roads.
Bob Mionske, two-time Olympian and "bicycle law" expert, will be
joined by Washoe County, Reno and Sparks police and leadership from
traffic safety, cycling groups, and, we hope, you. There will be an open
discussion about rules of the road, legal rights of motorists and
cyclists, and ways to make Reno roads less risky.
The forum
comes a month after a former Tour De Nez racer was hit and severely
injured on South McCarran -- and just a week after a three-year-old girl
on a bicycle was struck by a motorist

Mionske bases his law practice out of Portland and is the author of
"Bicycling & the Law: Your Rights as a Cyclist." He gives talks
across the country on road safety and cyclists' rights, and he writes
"Road Rights," a regular column for Bicycling Magazine.
Please
come!
Sincerely,
RBP
