Eclipse is an integrated development environment (IDE) used in computer programming.[5] It contains a base workspace and an extensible plug-in system for customizing the environment. It is the second-most-popular IDE for Java development, and, until 2016, was the most popular.[6] Eclipse is written mostly in Java and its primary use is for developing Java applications,[7] but it may also be used to develop applications in other programming languages via plug-ins, including Ada, ABAP, C, C++, C#, Clojure, COBOL, D, Erlang, Fortran, Groovy, Haskell, JavaScript, Julia,[8] Lasso, Lua, NATURAL, Perl, PHP, Prolog, Python, R, Ruby (including Ruby on Rails framework), Rust, Scala, and Scheme. It can also be used to develop documents with LaTeX (via a TeXlipse plug-in) and packages for the software Mathematica. Development environments include the Eclipse Java development tools (JDT) for Java and Scala, Eclipse CDT for C/C++, and Eclipse PDT for PHP, among others.[9]

The initial codebase originated from IBM VisualAge.[10] The Eclipse software development kit (SDK), which includes the Java development tools, is meant for Java developers. Users can extend its abilities by installing plug-ins written for the Eclipse Platform, such as development toolkits for other programming languages, and can write and contribute their own plug-ins. Since Eclipse 3.0 (released in 2004), plug-ins are installed and managed as "bundles" using Equinox, an implementation of OSGi.[11]

According to Lee Nackman, Chief Technology Officer of IBM's Rational division (originating in 2003) at that time, the name "Eclipse" (dating from at least 2001) was not a wordplay on Sun Microsystems, as the product's primary competition at the time of naming was Microsoft Visual Studio, which Eclipse was to eclipse.[21]

In addition to allowing the Eclipse Platform to be extended using other programming languages, such as C and Python, the plug-in framework allows the Eclipse Platform to work with typesetting languages like LaTeX[81] and networking applications such as telnet and database management systems. The plug-in architecture supports writing any desired extension to the environment, such as for configuration management. Java and CVS support is provided in the Eclipse SDK, with support for other version control systems provided by third-party plug-ins.

DCYF is working to integrate ECLIPSE services with Early ECEAP/ECEAP programming for children who are referred to ECEAP by DCYF social workers, primary care physicians, public health nurses, or Department of Social and Health Services social workers who have identified children who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

Depending on your version of Eclipse, you might also have a menu item Help -> Eclipse Marketplace. That one is even more comfortable, as it allows you to easily browse all plugins listed in the Eclipse Marketplace. You can also browse the marketplace in your browser and afterwards drag and drop interesting plugins from the browser to your running eclipse (if your version of eclipse is new enough).

You have two choices - fortunately the eclipse community saw fit to produce Eclipse in a range of products that will do 99% of what 99% of people want. These distros are good to go. You install them and start work. You can then extend them if you want, but they do all of the basics very well, reliably, out of the box. Installing more than one with eclipse is easy, they do not interfere with each other, and if one turns out to be broken, the rest are not affected.

Those who succeeded apparently used information from -with-sdcc-plug-in-always-has-an-error-of-java-lang-nullpointerexceptio (to get the SDCC plugin for Eclipse working on Windows) and -binutils-gdb.sourceforge.io/. The latter is the home of the gdb stm8 port (used for on-target debugging; apparently the author also uses Eclipse - while I have used that gdb port for on-target debugging I did not use it with eclipse).

StarDate Radio (produced by McDonald Observatory) will also create a special feature audio program about the eclipse that will be distributed to event partners throughout the state along with Public Service Announcements to help promote and educate a large audience about this special event.

ECLiPSeis an open-source software system for the cost-effective development and deploymentof constraint programming applications, e.g.in the areas of planning, scheduling, resource allocation, timetabling, transport etc.It is also ideal for teaching most aspects of combinatorial problemsolving, e.g. problem modelling, constraint programming, mathematical programming, and search techniques. It contains several constraint solver libraries,a high-level modelling and control language, interfaces to third-party solvers,an integrated development environmentand interfaces for embedding into host environments.

Ruben Viegas has contributed GRASPER, a constraint solver over graphs. It is distributed aslib(grasper)with recent builds of ECLiPSe 5.10 (as part of theeclipse_misc package). A background paper is here.

The bookConstraint Logic Programming using ECLiPSeby Krzysztof Apt and Mark Wallace is a practical introduction to constraint programming and to ECLiPSe,with many examples, appropriate for self study or a one-semester course.

Eclipse is an open-source Integrated Development Environment (IDE) supported by IBM. The mother site is @ www.eclipse.org. Eclipse is popular for Java project development. It also supports C/C++, PHP, Python, Perl, and other web project developments via extensible plug-ins. Eclipse is cross-platform and runs under Windows, Linux and Mac OS.

To use Eclipse for C/C++ programming, you need a C/C++ compiler. On Windows, you could install either MinGW GCC or Cygwin GCC. Choose MinGW if you are not sure, because MinGW is lighter and easier to install, but having less features.

Local Astronomer and NASA Solar System Ambassador Krissie Cook will be facilitating an activity at Library Lab: Eclipse Edition and is ready to answer all your eclipse-related questions! Krissie Cook was selected to be a Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries (SEAL) Eclipse Expert by STAR Net and is excited to share her knowledge.

Eclipse (@ www.eclipse.org) is a free and open-source Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE), originated from IBM inspired by VisualAge (in 2001), and now maintained by Eclipse Foundation. Eclipse is a desktop app written mostly in Java. However, it uses its own Java graphics library known as SWT (Standard Widget Toolkit), instead of Java's Swing/AWT.

The following program create and write to a text file "out.txt" (via java.util.Formatter), and read it back (via java.util.Scanner). I do the write first so that you can check the location of the exteranl files under eclipse, which is at the project base directory, at the same level as the "src" and "bin".

I'm using arduino plugin for eclipse and got stuck with timer example, because compiler cannot resolve register names, e.g. "TCCR2A", "TCCR2B", "CS22" and so on ("symbol could not be resolved"). Which include file, declaration or definition do I need, to make these names visible?

I have VS Code installed. I wanted to setup Eclipse mostly because I use it at work for Java programming and I figured it might save some time learning the IDE so I could concentrate on learning Rust. But maybe I should just try using VS Code instead.

Eclipse is a free, Java-based development platform known for its plugins that allow developers to develop and test code written in other programming languages. Eclipse is released under the terms of the Eclipse Public License.

The eclipse then moves northeast through Oklahoma, Missouri, Ohio, New York, and Maine, to name just a few of the states, and into Canada. In the Northeast, totality will be around 3:00 to 3:30 pm, so, in most of the U.S., students may be in school for the eclipse.

In Mexico and South Texas, the total eclipse will last over 4 minutes, which is good for a total eclipse. All the rest of North America will see a partial eclipse. The path of totality, where the Sun is blocked out completely by the Moon getting exactly in front of it, is over 100 miles wide and passes over more cities than the eclipse in 2017.

Guys I am fed up looking for a proper OpenMP setup. I have installed the eclipse for parallel programming plugin(software), it gives me option to choose only the OpenMP c project but i want to go for a c++ project in OpenMP. So, I created an empty c++ project and tried adding the flags (-fopenmp) to the linker and compiler. Doing this way, program is being compiled but it is ignoring the #pragmas. Can someone help me with this ASAP, am i missing any step? I want to use OpenMP in a C++ project.

Subclipse doesn't really work for me too. Maybe it's just a configuration issue, I don't know either.
It's pretty messy there in your eclipse... It isn't really clear what plugin is actually used and what dependencies this plugin then uses...

If you don't need features exclusively in subclipse you could follow my personal suggestion and uninstall everything svn-related from eclipse and then use subversive. (You didn't make clear if you specifically need subclipse)
