Hi everyone! My online classes have just begun after a long summer vacation so I needed to download Cisco Webex Meetings. There are two versions of Cisco Webex available online which are: 'Cisco Webex Meetings'(designed for non business calls like online classes) and the other one as 'Cisco Webex'. The problem which I am facing is that whenever I wish to download Cisco Webex Meetings which is designed for non business meetings, I always end up downloading and installing the other one which I don't want. Can anyone provide me the link of 'Cisco Webex Meetings' which is meant for non buisness calls?
But if I have webex meeting open, then it all works without an issue. Seems to be a really dumb design to roll everything into one, but when you are not part of the organisation setting up the meeting you don't have access.

The Download-Page of Webex ( ) looks like this:
The main-download (top) offers the new Webex.
The link at the bottom allows to download "Our previous app, Meetings": Webex Meetings.
I am not aware of any separation like "for business" or "non-business".
The most impacting difference is: do you use a free webex-license to host meetings or a paid host-license.
For participants the meeting experience (= available features) is given by the license-level of the host.
I set my Microsoft Outlook meeting calendar as my preference for my meeting list. When I close down, WebEx meetings, it forgets my preference. Is there a way to save that option so I don't have to keep resetting it?
Today, many organizations pay for multiple collaboration tools from different vendors. However, with Webex meetings included with Cisco devices, customers no longer need to pay for hardware and software separately. This truly defines interoperability.
Global COVID-19 pandemic safety protocols have also heightened the need for enterprises to offer immersive virtual meetings. For example, in the healthcare industry when a new surgical device is introduced, physicians, technicians, sales and support teams need to be trained quickly. With Webex Hologram, this training can be handled remotely to save time and travel, while providing the ability to see the surgical device from every angle and at its actual size as if a physician were in the room.
The Cisco Webex integration enables organizations to utilize the Webex Single Sign On (SSO) functionality. When Webex SSO is enabled, Webex instructors are not required to enter their passwords when creating and launching meetings.
Cisco Webex products provide capabilities including online meetings, team messaging and file sharing. The suite is considered a leading collaboration platform in the unified communications area and is geared toward both small group collaboration for SMBs as well as large group meetings for enterprise-wide deployments.
Webex Teams is a cloud-based team collaboration application that features video meetings, messaging, file sharing and whiteboarding. The software offers a persistent virtual meeting room for in-office and remote teams to collaborate. While Webex Teams is primarily a cloud-based service, it also supports hybrid and on-premises systems.
Webex Meetings integrates with Slack and Microsoft Teams, which allows users to start or join Webex video meetings directly from either platform. Webex Meetings offers calendar integrations including Outlook, Office 365 and Google Calendar, and also integrates with IBM Connections and Microsoft OneDrive for file sharing.
Webex Meetings features personal rooms that users can customize, schedule meetings or leave open for ad hoc meetings. Users can also schedule meetings from Webex Teams, join Webex meetings from Teams or continue conversations in Teams after a meeting ends.
The Webex backbone network powers all meetings, regardless of whether the user joined from the Webex Meetings or Teams apps. The software suite also supports on-premises and hybrid deployments with its Webex Hybrid Service. The hybrid service connects Webex Teams' cloud-based capabilities to on-premises Cisco communication systems. Cisco Webex also offers Video Mesh, a hybrid media service that keeps local users on premises and pushes remote or overflow users to the cloud.
WebEx Meeting Center allows users to start, schedule and conduct meetings. Users can prepare an invitation to a meeting with Microsoft Outlook. To invite attendees, a user only has to have their email address. The user can then join using their computer or smartphone. The device being used can also be interchanged mid-conference.
The Cisco Webex Meetings desktop app allows you to access your most commonly used Webex Meetings site controls all in one place. You can use the Webex Meetings desktop app to easily view your upcoming meetings, start and join your meetings, and connect to a video device.
Cisco Webex is the leading enterprise solution for voice/video conferencing, online meetings, screen sharing, chat and webinars. The application is supported across mobile devices, desktops and room systems.
Like the other products in this roundup, Cisco offers tiered pricing for Webex. There is a free tier that provides meetings of up to 50 minutes for up to 100 participants. These meetings include most of the basic video conferencing features you'd expect, such as screen sharing, breakout rooms, and whiteboarding. Unfortunately, it lacks many of Cisco's more advanced, business-oriented features.
The Meet plan costs $15 per user per month, or $13.50 per user per month when billed annually. This plan ups the number of meeting participants to 200 and meetings can last up to 24 hours. It also adds features, such as 10GB of cloud recording storage per user, closed captioning, meeting transcription, background noise canceling, and file transfers.
Once you download the Webex app, you'll find everything you need to create and manage meetings. Similar to Microsoft Teams, there's a space for collaborators to use whiteboards, files, messages, and a variety of add-on integrations to third-party apps, such as Sketchboard and Smartsheet. All of this pairs nicely with the meeting portion of the app.
Note: Cisco has changed a default security feature to automatically lock a meeting 10 minutes after its scheduled start time. Attendees who attempt to join the meeting once it is locked can still attend but will need to be admitted by the host. Learn how to change this auto-locking meeting feature, help.webex.com
The speaker is shown in the large center screen while your screen is minimized at the bottom right corner. This is a great view for having 1:1 meetings with someone. However, if there are more than two participants, it is necessary to choose between the other two views.
