I hope you and Fran and kids are all good.I'm passing along this petition I started yesterday about an age-old problem that's resurfaced, and hope you'll share with any local friends (CGE folks?) who might be concerned or willing to sign on to support. As you're likely aware, private landowner Joe Keefe has been trying for years to gain permission to construct a roadway to access his landlocked property. He's teamed with former IL State Senate President John Cullerto, who has an interest in the property. Here's the petition:Thanks for any support you can lend!SusanPS The MWRD Board will hear the request Thursday morning (11/3). Time is of the essence!---------- Forwarded message ---------

Subject: URGENT! Please consider opposing request - before Thurs 11/3 - to build a road in Isabella Woods (Canal Shores)!
To:Hi Neighbors,--This Thursday (Nov 3) there is a hearing before the MWRD (Metropolitan Water Reclamation District) Board to hear a new request from Joe Keefe for an easement to put a road in across Canal Shores’ 10th hole green, just north of Isabella Woods. As with prior easement requests, he has the backing of John Cullerton and is using the Cook County Department of Highways to make the request.Canal Shores and many of its neighbors oppose this easement because it will have a significant detrimental impact on the old-growth trees in Isabella Woods, the wetlands in the area, the playability and safety of the 10th hole itself, and the use of the open green space by our neighbors. An important part of our effort is to demonstrate the community’s opposition to this by getting as many people as we can to add their voices in opposition to the easement. We need to collect the signatures over the next 48 hours - before the morning of Thursday, Nov 3.Please reach out to all friends and neighbors from Evanston and Wilmette and invite them to add their names to those that oppose this request. The petition can be viewed here:Thank you for your support!
