Dear Friends,

I received this email from Jen Walling yesterday, but was at a funeral until late last night.  If you get this before 11 AM today, please act now!  Note: there are two slips to fill out.  It is very easy to do if you haven't done one before.

Thank you,

Jerry Herst

From Jen:

Hey everyone,

The wind and solar siting reform bill is in its final committee tomorrow at 11AM.  Please file a slip in support by clicking here.

There are two senate amendments being adopted - 1 and 4.  SFA4 (Senate floor amendment 4) fixes an issue we identified and cleans up the Ameren rate relief portion.  I would recommend slipping in support of both. (Where it says POSITION, click the "add position" button below and you can choose the second amendment), but anything you do would be great.

As a report, it has all of the conservation items we asked for and the wind and solar siting language that removes the worst things local counties can do to these important projects, including bans.

It also includes the creation of a fund with $200 million for rebates to Ameren customers, but that part will still need to receive a budget appropriation.  There are also some workforce hub fixes and some language to prioritize carbon free schools that came from labor.

Unfortunately, it also includes language that opens up who can be appointed to the IPA, but we were able to include some strong language on the requirement that any appointees have experience with the renewable energy industry and the equity provisions of CEJA.  Ultimately, the policy of opening up the position is probably a good one, but we will need to fight to ensure the candidate that is appointed or re-appointed is someone amazing.
