Hello Complete Streeters,
Here’s my blog take of last week’s meeting: http://fresh-energy.org/index.php/blog/Minnesota-Complete-Streets-Coalition-begins-work.html
The Coalition is now at 18 official organizational members with the support of 1 elected official. As I mentioned at Thursday’s meeting, we can make it to 100 supporters together! If your organization/entity isn’t on the official list of Coalition members, I can add you today! Let me know if you would like to be an official member/supporter.
I have also attached a summary of the flip chart notes from our great discussion.
Thanks again for participating and I hope to see you again at the half-day strategy session on Monday, August 24. I will send out the full logistical details of that meeting by the end of the week.

Subject: MN Complete Streets meeting follow up
Thank you for attending yesterday’s Minnesota Complete Streets Coalition introductory meeting. You helped make it a huge success! The 40 people who came out show that there is a lot of support for Complete Streets and we are excited to begin working with a coalition effort to promote a statewide Complete Streets policy and ongoing Complete Streets implementation.
Feedback info
Thank you also for those that were able to fill out the feedback sheet. This will help us grow the Coalition and maximize the efficiency of the Coalition’s future work. If you didn’t get a chance to fill one out at the meeting, please respond to 4 quick questions:
· Would you like to be on listserv for the Minnesota Complete Streets Coalition? If so, would you like full updates or a monthly update?
· Would you/your organization like to be signed on as a member of the Coalition?
· Are you interested in attending a half-day Complete Streets strategy session on Monday, August 24?
Staying connected
In addition to the listserv, you can stay looped in to the Coalition via the web. Please share with friends or others that might be interested!

· We will launch a website next week
Next steps
· MnDOT is looking for feedback as part of their Complete Streets policy review. The deadline for comments is tomorrow! I would encourage you to take 5 minutes to add some positive comments about Complete Streets and mention that you hope that the policy review will include a recommendation to move forward with a Complete Streets policy. The form is available: http://www.dot.state.mn.us/planning/completestreets/outreach.html
· The next Coalition meeting will be a half-day strategy session on August 24 (details to follow). I hope that you can make it!
· Do Bike, Do Walk Conference on September 1 and 2 (see the agenda or register online before August 21). It is sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota in coordination with Bike Walk Twin Cities (an initiative of Transit for Livable Communities), MN Dept of Health, MN Dept of Transportation, and the U of M’s Center for Transportation Studies.
· Complete Streets Advocacy Session, September 1 from 6:30-9:00pm (info and registration online). This session is being sponsored by Transit for Livable Communities, the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota, and Fresh Energy.
Onward to Complete Streets!
