I thought some of you might be interested in this short article about Rochester, Minn.,and its current and future commitment to adding bike lanes. The article mentions the city's complete streets program too. Kathy Cooper forwarded it to me. Here's an excerpt

Progress likely will be slow, said Mitzi Baker, a planner in the Rochester-Olmsted Planning Department.

"The transition doesn't happen overnight," she said, "but in 10 years maybe we'll look back and go, 'Hey, remember when we didn't have any bike lanes and now we have a really integrated network.'"
