Matthew Garcia at the Department of Energy; office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Education and Workforce Development.is helping coordinate a Student Outreach Event scheduled for September 14th from 3-5 pm at DOE (in DC) and he would like to know if GMU graduate or undergraduate students interested in energy would like to participate.

The event will be an opportunity for students to learn about DOE missions and programs, and opportunities available to them at EERE and DOE. The agenda is still tentative, but we've already lined up some pretty impressive speakers from programs across the agency, and will also have a couple of Q& A sessions for the participants.  They are striving for maximum outreach and as such look to have as many universities as possible represented. But with limited seating, student groups will be added on a first come first serve basis, with 10-20 students per group (currently). Also, because of building access requirements, if there will be foreign nationals present in your group, we would have to get some required information, and begin that process as early as possible as well.If you are interested in attending please let me know.  I will forward a list of all names I receive by Monday 8/27.
