File: 20140314 android-fs4.tar.gz
Model Rena3 Wifi only without GPS

Installation made on 20140514

Method: Flash with vol+ + Power bt.

Wiped all + cache + flashed update via FF4 2.1.08

Errors:
No logcat, sorry, I´m without a cable and a dev setup on my work pc.

-  Random reboots right after 1st boot when registering google account
-  Can connect to Wi-fi but signal don´t show on bar on top and then disconnects
-  Skiped registration on google, random reboots at unlocking device, turning on and off wi-fi or sometimes else.

Testing a method for fixing:
- flashing again with wipe before and after update to see If it gets fixed. (NOT WORKED!)

best regards,

Marcel

Suggestions for next build:
- Put any file manager
- Put superuser (a.k.a. root)
- fix Wi-fi issue (maybe kernel issue? revert some commits?)
- enable soft "home" button and disable soft "search"

Testing a method for fixing:
- flashing again with alternative kernel (uImage4_goodix) (but the original kernel worked ok with my touchscreen)

Other kernel not worked because Touch Screen not worked. :(

- Returning to the the recent kernel so I can try the HDMI output at night.

Suggestions for next build:
- Change partition Scheme so we got more space for apps and less for user files on NAND (recently facebook, and firefox are gigantic and the sd card is exclusively for user files)

- Put any file manager
- Put superuser (a.k.a. root)
- fix Wi-fi issue (maybe kernel issue? revert some commits?)
- enable soft "home" button and disable soft "search"

I wish I knew how to make these things, but it´s beyond my actual knowledge.

Best regards

Hi Marsel,

glad to hear you finally managed to install the upgrade to JB!
And thanks for suggestions. I'll try to consider those for any coming release...
Though the project is fully open-source so anyone else willing to rebuild, just free to do that! I'd be more than glad to help on that front.
About tha WiFi issue, try going to the "advanced" setting under Wifi and uncheck the "Avoid Poor Connections" option.
That should solve the crash and reboot issue. Indeed, that option should be unset by default (AOSP sets it on instead), but I haven't found yet where to fix that.

How's your HDMI view? it should be 720P. In principle it could also be a 1080I (but to achieve that something should be changed in kernel).

enjoy
Fabio

Ok, unchecking "avoid poor connections" solved the wi-fi issue.

About the HDMI, it worked. I will put my feedback on the post regarding it.
