The good folks from The Manchester Pub (Lawrence & Hudson) are offering us discounted tickets to Saturday's Home On The Grange festival in Long Island City at the Brooklyn Grange (urban rooftop farm). This was supposed to happen last week during Craft Beer Week, but it was postponed to Saturday, October 1 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The even is a celebration of local, sustainable foods and craft beer. Tickets are $89 per person, but Rendezfoodies are eligible for discounted $65 tickets! Tickets can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets and use the code 'WhyLeaveAstoria' to get the discounted price of $65 per ticket.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit City Growers, the educational arm of the Brooklyn Grange that coordinates and facilitates farmer training, educational workshops and school and camp visits to the Brooklyn Grange.
The menu for the festival is as follows and will be served in a stationary buffet-style format, prepared by Chef Matthew Garelick of Wall & Water. The meal will highlight produce from the Brooklyn Grange and other seasonal ingredients from local purveyors:
Scotch Braised Beef Short Ribs - New Potatoes and Smoked Onions
Maple Caraway Glazed Heritage Pork Belly - Roasted Apples and Brussel Sprouts
Ode to Oktoberfest - Grilled Schaller and Weber Brats and Kolbasa, Euro Market Sudzuk, Sauerkraut
Toasted Farro and Seafood Salad - Grilled Octopus and Calamari, Grange Farm Tomatoes, Citrus Vinaigrette
Roasted Seasonal Vegetables - Sage, Rosemary and Pomegranate Molasses
Grange Farm “Peppery Mix” Green Salad
Locally Made Charcuterie - from Muncan Foods, Heritage Foods and Euro Market
Artisan Cheese - Marinate Olives, Mixed Nuts, Grissini
Let me know if you'll be going!
Happy eating!
