The reason being I've looked for a ranger aesthetic armor in vanilla Skyrim and so far Thieves Guild seems like the best "true" ranger armor I can find. Hide, scaled, and studded armors have a unique look, but seem to be better suited for bandits and barbarians. I don't have any armor mods installed but I did find one ranger set [here]( -mods.wikia.com/wiki/Ranger_Armor_(Immersive_Armors).
The whole idea of a ranger is someone who is independent, free of the dullness of a crowded city life. You would be best off to minimize your time spent in the city, coming in to trade goods or receive new quests from the jarl or their steward. This is pretty open ended and entirely up to you how you want to go about it. You're a pathfinder, so if you want to work for other people and help them with their day to day problems, that's good too. I even hear that the companions could use another archer, someone in touch with nature. The stormcloaks and imperials alike could also use a pioneer to lead their forces. Just do whatever you feel is right.
The most important aspect of this build is the roleplay, because that's what seperates you from being just an archer. And at later levels, you will be tempted by more powerful weapons and better armor, and if the game is proving too difficult, make up a reason and get yourself some nice dragonscale armor and a daedric bow with matching swords and arrows. The biggest thing to take away from this is to have fun with it. One of the best parts about being a ranger is having the world wide open to them. Skyrim is a big place with a lot to see and do.
Bosmer are the best race for archery in Skyrim. Naturals with bows and proud wood-dwellers with an affinity for animals, the Bosmer (better known as Wood Elves) are the official rangers of the game.
The ranger build is kind of like combining a stealth archer and pure warrior together to create something different entirely. Basically, the ranger is a warrior and thief hybrid that takes full advantage of the Redguard's strengths to make the ranger the best build for Redguards in Skyrim.
- as handgun : Heaven striker ( obviously the best handgun of the game, very powerfull with the special and very usefull to finish monsters quickly ), arrest/demons/hell raygun ( situationnal : demon better on human since unreduced in ult, hell usefull in ep2 stuff and arrest work better on cast but still work on human and can be used to paralyze stuff like dorphon, girta, mericarol, del lilly ( hardly ) dark gunner etc etc .... ), last swan/master raven ( more usefull on hunter ) heaven punisher ( divine punishment special only in case of no MM ), tension blaster ( special arrest wich is usefull ) red handgun ( only used for stunlock screens at vol opt 1 and kill them fast but it's better as hunter .... as ranger you probably got better options like sn/iron/dm machine )
Nature's Mantle also grants your ranger the ability to Hide as a bonus action, giving your action economy a significant boost. When your ranger gains the Vanish ability at level 14, you could outgrow this equipment, but it won't let you down in the interim. This cape works best when worn with elvenkind boots.
When dealing with domestic or non-hostile animals, a ranger can approach the animal and befriend it automatically. He can easily discern the qualities of the creature (spotting the best horse in the corral or seeing that the runt of the litter actually has great promise).
