Withthe closure of this server, many fans of the series and this game were left without an option to enjoy the online Dynasty Warriors universe, whereas other Global servers remain open and live. Since the servers closure, the desire for this game to return has only grown.

We are starting this petition to facilitate KOEI Techmo Games consideration in bringing back the North America server or starting a new server. A large following desires this game to return with the prospect of being able to work together with, battle against, and build relations between players of the many kingdoms of Shu, Wu, Wei, and others. We long for the invigorating battles of Showdowns, the ever-fulfilling climb of Kunlun Mountain, and joy of creating our own characters in the Dynasty Warriors universe and fighting for our kingdoms of choice.

The return of the Dynasty Warriors Online North America server would be a dawn of a new era. With the growing demand in player-vs-player games like Fortnite, Overwatch, PubG, and other arena style games, Dynasty Warriors Online would truly shine among these titles.

For the reasons above and many more, we, the Dynasty Warriors North America fan base believes it is an optimal time to re-open a North American server for Dynasty Warriors Online. Dynasty Warriors Online offers arena, conquer, and large scale play systems that appeals to players of many genres along with vast character customization options and weapon crafting mechanics.

We ask for your signature, whether you are a casual Dynasty Warriors fan, a longtime fan, someone looking for nostalgia from previous games, a player new to DW, or a voracious general ready to fight for their choice of thr Three Kingdoms. Please, help us bring back this truly unique, content rich, and community rich game.

Aeria Games and Tecmo Koei today announced that the online incarnation of the Dynasty Warriors series is coming to Europe and North America. The massively multiplayer online game arrived on Japanese PCs in 2007 and has been exclusive to the land of the rising sun ever since. However, the title is now scheduled to hit North America and Europe this fall. The hack-and-slash goes online in North America and Europe.

The game promises four-on-four or 12-on-12 online skirmishes, as well as a number of game modes, including player-versus-player combat and story-driven battles. Players will also be afforded character progression through leveling up and amassing new gear.

Players can create one character per account, customizable by name, sex, figure, face, hair, voice, and standard colors. They can choose a faction and switch allegiances after registration. A tutorial from a general determines age and intimacy level, impacting cutscenes and familiarity with other officers.

Levels are not set. Stats can be adjusted by the weapon and equipment that the character has equipped. Equipment is mainly the clothing that the character wears, which alters stats such as speed, power, and defense. Instead of levels players are given ranks that are gained by acquiring honor. Certain battle bonuses are unlocked with higher ranks such as the ability to equip better weapons and gear. With rank players can gain a cape which give a bonus depending on the area.

The game features weapons that mimic the actions of series characters, with minor changes. Original weapons for the online game are also included. Players can chat with other players or participate in PvP events. Bodyguards, humans or animals, can follow the player in battle and can gain levels and abilities. Upgraded bodyguards can increase ally stats and debuff enemies.

Players can choose to participate in a story scenario with their army. Each scenario features several mini-battles that the player can either watch on a map or personally take part in. Based on the character's rank, at the end of a scenario they may be shown in a cutscene with their chosen general, often having that general displaying some affection or respect for the character for their own reason. Currently, the known story scenarios are as follows:

The Souten Ranbu expansion, a part of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms MMO, features special outfits and scenarios based on the movie series Red Cliff. Additional extras were unlocked with the release of Part II in Japanese theaters. The game also features a crossover event with the TV anime.

This is the first time the series has gone online as well, and it has 40 playable characters, four player co-op, voice and text chat, 40 console-exclusive missions, and command of up to three AI-controlled officers,

Burlingame, CA, November 19, 2009 -- The world's premier action franchise is back with a vengeance and for the first time going online with four-player Tactical Action combat. KOEI Corporation today announced DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce is coming to Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation3 computer entertainment system on February 16, 2010.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce takes place in a mystic version of ancient China where warriors possess the power of "Fury". This power gives them superhuman strength, lightning fast speed and the ability to fly. Taking the role of any one of over 40 playable characters, up to four friends can go online to launch raids as a team or battle it out competitively.

Using voice or text chat to coordinate assaults, players will go on campaigns to infiltrate heavily-armed enemy strongholds, clash with thousand-man armies, or to slay dragons and other massive beasts. In single-player mode, players have the option to choose and command up to three AI-controlled officers to join them in offline missions.

KOEI is introducing several new game elements exclusive to the console version of DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce including over 40 console-exclusive missions, command of up to three AI-controlled officers, an enemy "Hyperbreak" gauge, the ability to plan special combat tactics, new playable character "Meng Huo", and online officer trading.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce comes action-packed with over 40 new console-exclusive missions, with more than 200 quests in all. To further whet the appetites of fans, players can also download new campaigns from Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and

The next game was released in Japan as Shin Sangokumusou. This game was released in other countries as Dynasty Warriors 2, leading to the discrepancy in title numbers. From this game onwards, the player chooses a playable character and plays a number of levels representing particular battles in the Three Kingdoms period, eventually defeating all other rival kingdoms and uniting China under a common ruler. In this game mode, known as "Musou Mode", the generals are usually chosen from one of the three kingdoms (Wu, Shu or Wei; however, from Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends onwards, independent generals were given full stories as well). Dynasty Warriors 3 has two secret characters, N Wa and Fu Xi, that are not playable in Musou Mode.

Dynasty Warriors 2, Dynasty Warriors 3, Dynasty Warriors 5 and Dynasty Warriors 6 have individual Musou Modes for each character. In Dynasty Warriors 4, Dynasty Warriors 7, and Dynasty Warriors 8, each of the Three Kingdoms has its own Musou Mode, which all characters from a particular kingdom would play. The stages are presented in a third-person view, with the camera set behind the player as they engage the enemy forces. Each scenario can have different win/lose conditions, but the common losing conditions (defeat of the commander-in-chief, health bar reaching zero and maximum time limit reached) still hold. As for the other characters not from either of the Three Kingdoms, their Musou story modes are purely fictional since in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, most or all of them were eliminated until only the Three Kingdoms were left.

In Dynasty Warriors 5, a relatively more realistic Musou Mode is introduced for each character. Instead of participating in the entire set of their kingdoms' events, the characters appear only in certain battles that they had fought in, as according to the novel or factual history. Therefore, characters will start at different points in time and they may never have opportunities to encounter some of the other characters (e.g. Zhuge Liang will never meet L Bu or Dong Zhuo in his Musou Mode). In between stages there are some dramatic cutscenes, in which the character will express their thoughts on the situation, adding a more personal touch and keeping the player updated on the events. Besides, a character's Musou Mode may end before the unification of China at any point of time, stopping for most at their historical point of death. However, some characters such as the three founders may continue to participate in battles that occurred after their deaths (e.g. Cao Cao appearing in Battle of Wuzhang Plains), representing an extended leadership under more successful circumstances.

In Dynasty Warriors 8, an "if" route is added for each country. By fulfilling conditions in previous battles, the player can unlock a hypothetical route for each country where it manages to achieve what it failed to do in actual history. For example, the player can help Wei avoid defeat in the battle of Chibi and unite China with all Wei characters alive.

The Dynasty Warriors game series, although referenced to factual people, is known for changing the traditional ways of how some of the historical characters were depicted in Romance of the Three Kingdoms or in historical records. For example, Zhang He appears to be more feminine while Wei Yan becomes a bestial tribal warrior, while historical accounts depict both to be relatively normal generals with no outstanding characteristics such as these. Some of them also wield weapons that are anachronistic, such as Ling Tong's nunchaku and Sun Ce's tonfas. A touch of mysticism is also added, as some characters such as Zhuge Liang, Sima Yi and Zuo Ci have the ability to use magic in their attacks. Female characters (except Zhurong and Wang Yi) who did not participate in any battles in the novel or in history are depicted as fearsome female warriors with exceptional fighting skills and weapons.
