Thom Dowd Concert

Thom Dowd and Gorse Ferraris will be at SL Renaissance Island on Sun.
Jan. 18th at 12 p.m. slt and at the Globe Theatre on Sat. Jan. 24th at
12 p.m. slt. they will be performing English renaissance music.

A little background of Thom Dowd:

Thom and his family joined our village in 2006 and although he was
breifly away (when kidnapped by the Spanish while taking a voyage on
behalf of our Majesty's request), has always supported our little
village. So I was estactic when he didn't hesitate to agree to hold a
fund raiser for Renaissance Island. Proceeds will go toward the
maintenance support of this Island.

A little background "behind" Thom Dowd:

Thom Dowd (alias Thomas Coard) was born in Michigan U.S.A. and has
been living Switzerland since 1978. He teaches recorder at the
Conservatory of Fribourg. Thom started recording renaissance multi-
voice music with a computer. This opened the door to new inspiration
and the possibility to perform the music that he really loves to a
world wide audience. Second Life and the virtual world have created a
new way to conceive and to present the music of the renaissance and
baroque.
