Greetings all,

At the risk of making an unpopular choice, and after having reviewed
the recent discussions about problems with minors in our neighborhood,
I made a decision as the Site Owner to remove all comments that
specifically name one of our neighborhood's minor children on this
public website. I agree that issues regarding minors in our
neighborhood should be dealt with, but perhaps in a less public forum.
Though peace in our neighborhood is important to me and all the adults
in RP, the bigger issue now (brought about by today's discussions) is
protecting the identities of the youth in our neghborhood. I cannot
personally attest to the things happenning in or around the park at
night with our youth, but we need to keep in mind that they are just
that... kids... someone's child. It would suffice to state the issues
and offer a more off-channel forum to discuss specifics such as the
identities of our minor adults. Also, as a parent, I believe the
proper forum in dealing with a minor is to address the child's parents
first, and not subject a child's identity to public scrutiny. Even if
this person did in fact do things that require some adult
intervention... we should bear in mind that we're still talking about
a child.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike,
That is definately the legal thing to do.  I don't think you can actually mention a minors name when accusing them of wrong doing.  Thanks for taking control and making the correct decision.  Happy New Year to you and your family and everyone else too.
Tim
