Forwarded from a neighborhood friend...

Hey... I just want to let you know that James saw some teens breaking into cars this morning around 5am. By the time he came in to get his keys to go track them down they were gone. He did drive around the neighborhood. But nothing out of the norm. Our truck and several cars on our street got hit. Looks like they were scrounging for change. Nothing else was missing. Can you please send a message to everyone and let them know. Please lock your doors. IF you are not going to lock your doors please don't keep anything valuable in your car.. Including change

This was on 33rd street in phase 1 (one street away from the park)

There were two caucasian teenage kids, and they got away in a 90's model white chevy Cavalier.

Nicki,

My wife and I agree with you about security and the park lights. Both would be nice, but the only way I know how to do those things though are to either raise the annual HOA dues, or by private donation to the HOA. There are probably other options too, but these make the most sense to me (not having more experience I these issues). Now, how desirable or accepted those options are... not my call. Just saying what seems logical to me.

I think we're too late for a gated community though, because that requires private streets, and our streets already belong to the local government (either city or county, I can't remember). But, that was the last I had heard about it years ago; perhaps things have changed or perhaps all had not been considered. May be worth looking into.

As far as the car's description, it was given to a Broken Arrow Police Officer who lives in our neighborhood and had pulled over a vehicle matching the description at 1am that morning. I've heard nothing further on that.

Anyone else have any ideas, comments, suggestions?

We live on the corner of 202nd e ave across the street from the park and our truck got hit to. Did anyone report the vehicle to the county sheriff's office and if we see this car in our neighborhood do we call the police??? I think we need to hire security or make our neighborhood a gated community. Last year our cars were spray painted this year our windows our broken out. For the price were paying to get things fixed surely we can come up with some solution for some type of security I do not feel safe in my own home. We also needs lights put in at the park it is so dark over there at night. My husband left work last Sat at 4:30am and there were two teenagers walking around at the park that is so scary and I'm tired of it something has to be done.

We will be setting up security cameras and when that is done, I will be setting traps. ie. Leaving garage door open, car doors unlocked etc. It only takes 1 time getting caught on camera to prove who it was.

I also would encourage everyone with kids in the neighborhood to talk to your children and see if they might know who or what's going on. Every evening there are enough kids to start an army playing at the park. When the sun goes down, most go home. As school gets out it seems like people out there later and later every year. Also if you see someone that around that shouldnt be, ask them to leave. More and more kids from other neighborhoods are coming to our park and using our equipment. Everyone needs to pay attention and keep everyone informed if anything happens or you see anything.
