I added the program to the windows startup folder so that it opens
upon startup. It works perfectly, but I was wondering if there is a
way to stop the program from opening up the status window when the
program opens.

- right click the shortcut to the program thats in the startup folder
- click properties
- under the "shortcut" tab, there is a drop-down menu for "Run:" set
it to "minimized"
