Mark;

It’s pretty cool. I had a little trouble figuring out what I was watching.

I take it I was supposed to see status indications showing on a sort of ‘map’ as he train moved along its route?

I’m still working on serial communications using Bluetooth.

I have a good grasp of serial communications using hardware or software serial and I have I2C working well.

What I’ve been spending time on is the serial Bluetooth modules.

It turns out if all you wanted to do is replace a wired serial link between 2 machines with a wireless one, these modules can do it easily.

Sometime soon, I have to stop messing around with these gadgets and get my train back up and running!

Hi Mark...

   Read your Web posting and watched the video.  I understand what you're doing with flags, AKA atomic objects (effectively semaphores).  Will you be showing us a run with two trains running towards each other?  I didn't see any indication in your scripts of motion planning beyond the next block ahead, meaning deadlock would occur with two opposing trains if there isn't a passing siding for one of them to sneak onto.  Is that correct?  This isn't a criticism; I'm trying to understand how far you've gotten in dispatching in a safe manner.

   Are you planning a layer above your scripts for users?  I'm imagining something where a user says: "I want train #3 to run from Youngstown through Aliquippa and on to McKees Rocks Yard.  The train should follow the shortest path possible with the exception of when it has to alter route to avoid another train or deadlock.  Underneath this interface would be scripts you've written ahead of time that can route trains between places like Youngstown and Aliquippa.  The idea is to keep the user from having to write scripts for themselves.
