Hello all,

I've got a strange wifi problem with Remix os 64bit on my Dell Latitude E4200. It did not connect to my router but I could see other routers.
So I started playing with the wifi channels and found out that I could not connect to my router on channels 1 to 7, but 8 to 13 i've got a full signal. I only got a weak signal on some the first 7 channels for a few seconds when I put my laptop within 25 cm from the router.

The wifi adapter type is: Dell Wireless WLAN 1397/1510 Half Mini Card.

I also got this problem on the 32bit version and on the phoenix os version.

At home my problems are solved because I set my wifi channel on channel 12. But when I'm outdoors I can't connect when a signal is on the first 7 channels.

Anyone for a solution?

Greetings,
Peter

Interesting. I had posted about a similar problem, in that I have 2 wifi networks in my house that previously worked fine with RemixOS, then one day they suddenly disappeared from the list. The networks were still up and worked fine with other devices, along with the other two operating systems on my laptop (Dell Latitude E4300) installed alongside RemixOS (Windows 10 and Kubuntu.) I attributed the change to an update to RemixOS.

Upon seeing your post, I decided to try and play around with my wifi router channels, as they were on 1 and 6. I changed the one on 1 to 11, and lo and behold, not only did it pop up on my list of wifi networks in RemixOS, the one assigned to 6 did as well. The one on channel 6 was set to channel 9 when I first installed RemixOS, so apparently the problem started when I switched it to 6.

Strange how they both disappeared when they were both set to a channel below 8, and both returned when only one of them was set above 7. There's definitely some sort of issue here. Either with RemixOS itself, or perhaps the supposed hardware-based "wifi catcher" thing that Dell has in these laptops causes an issue with the RemixOS wifi support?
