I'm trying to install the "
Android-x86 5.1 - Remix OS - 32 Bit" onto a rather old desktop computer. It is a Gateway GT5458E that runs Windows Vista, so I had to use the USB option using a different computer. I followed the instructions, but I got stuck when I booted into the USB on the Gateway. It gets stuck in (or immediately after) "Verifying DMI Pool Data ........" (see attachment).
I looked around a bit and did a few Google searches, but I can't seem to figure out what I need to do.
A lot of forums suggested editing settings in the BIOS, which I tried. I also attempted to disconnect the network cable, and I tried the flash drive in multiple ports. None of these things worked.
So, my questions are:
1. Can I get Remix OS on my Gateway (is it supported)?
2. Am I using the right download file from the Android-x86 site?
3. If the answers to number 1 and 2 are Yes, then what do I need to do to complete this process?
Thanks?
