Your's Acer have internal HD or SSD, or any storage.  Some Chromebooks have a sd card adapter where installed the Google Chrome OS.  For do that you will need another PC with windows or linux or Mac.

Remove the  SD card with google Chrome OS, and keep it in a safe place.

buy one new SD card at least 32GB is the maximum  size supported by Remix OS

in the Windows you can use Rufus USB or the Remix OS USB boot Maker, to install the iso files in the 32GB SD card.

Put the Remix Os into SD card adapter, and try boot, if works select Resident Mode.

if not work, you will need check is the hardware have any lock for another OS. Like Samsumg Chromebooks.

I forget, use FAT32 type in new SD card, for Remix OS works without problems

Thanks for your detail information and support. My chromebook is Acer CE3-111-C4GD which is SSD model. BTW, how can I boot from SD card? Or can I use USB boot rather than SD? For future, can I reinstall Chrome OS again? Thank you.
