Remix OS and Ubuntu 16 in dual boot

Hi All,

is it possible to create a dual boot system on PC x86 with Ubuntu 16 and Remix OS for PC?

If Ubuntu is the primary operating system, and it handles .exe files (such as the installation tool), then sure, try it.

Hi. I tried this dual boot following directions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/remix-os-installation-rooting-t3293769

I successfully boot on Remix, but I can't complete initial configuration wizard. My system freezes and reboots when trying to finish initial configuration. I have tried without connecting to a wifi or without adding google account, but no luck.

I suspect it is a permissions problem but I haven't tried anything different so far.

Hi,

did you use a 32 or 64 bit achitecture? What iso file you installed (32 or 64)?

What about of "_64" on string "androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_64" in procedure (boot menu entry) described in the link above?

Hi, I'm using 64 bit iso. This is my boot entry:

menuentry 'Remix OS' --class android-x86 {
        insmod part_gpt
        search --file --no-floppy --set=root /remix/system.img
        linux /remix/kernel root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_64 androidboot.selinux=permissive CMDLINE
        initrd /remix/initrd.img
}
