I got the Remix OS working on my Asus T300 Chi. But the battery life wasn't satisfying. Since Android mainly aims for tablets and phones, Remix OS should start with the laptops. So battery life is very important. In theory, Android would do a much better job than Windows 10 does, but as it turns out, I only get roughly 5 hours of screen on time while doing nothing while I can get 8-10 hours on Windows 10. So I suggest that the OS should focus on extending the battery life on Core M, i3, i5, i7 laptop CPUs, and if the battery lasts long than Windows 10, lots of users will swtich over to Remix for everyday uses.

It's an Alpha first and formost.

I am getting the same BL on my laptop. Get the screen app "brightness level". This took me from 3 hours to 5+

Thank you Scott. I didn't even think about a brightness app. Will try that out. Hated that the brightness was so high. I keep windows 10 all the way down. By the way I saw in a different thread you weren't rooted yet. Did you get that done? I think that since I rooted and started using greenify I'm seeing some improvement.

The brightness adjusting works on my devices. In my opinion, the battery life is about the GPU driver.

Well don't I feel stupid. Didn't even realize my laptop had brightness keys. They look just like a settings icon.

I think it is not problem of Android. When I used Ubuntu with tlp (a battery management tool) + low brightness + powersave mode on CPU  , I was able juice out 3 hours (my battery is 2-cell ). However in windows 8.1 , with using battery saver mode , I was able to juice upto 4 hours. Usually that is why Android phone last shorter than Iphone. Linux is power-drainer.  Or may be Windows don't use hardware as good as Linux can and it is the reason.

P.S.: This is my viewpoint , may be I am wrong about this.
