After you install Google Play with this tool, you need to reboot system immediately . (Don't open Google Play or login any Google App before reboot). Otherwise, you will see "Error" while you are trying to download anything.

To fix it: 

1) Remove your Google account in setting/account. (check detail)

2) Clear data from Google Play and Google Service. (check detail)

3) Reboot again and enjoy Play Store.

I have this problem too. There is no account to delete because I was never able to log in. I did reboot after activating Play. Cleared data for Play and Services and rebooted too. No luck. Had the same problem with android-x86 6.0 RC1.

I forgot to restart too but I was able to fix it by doing the following exactly:

1. Clear Google Play App cache & data
2. Clear Google Play Services cache & data
3. Run the remix Google Play Activator App again
4. Restart immediately
5. Start Google Play App the agree and sign-in

It should work normally after this.

I also got this error and I still have no solution for that. Anybody any ideas? Remix sucks without the playstore... I did exactly the steps Jeffrey posted. :-(

I am having this problem too, I was unable to fix it by clearing App data, and I am unable to sign in at all.  

Device: Acer Switch Alpha 12

Solution was found : Im past the error.. and creating a account

At boot / grub / edit.. add SERIAL=random
So.. it looks like this:
quiet SERIAL=random

you mean? I can't find /boot/grub/edit , where is that? can u explain it a little bit complex. Please help me, i just installed Remix OS v3 and my playstore can't sign in (unable) . im so sad :(

Thanks noma.

You have to add the SERIAL=random at the grub menu for your RemixOS.

If you had dual boot with Ubuntu or Windows, you would be able to edit the grub menu.

32-bit:

/kernel initrd=/initrd.img root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=remix_x86 androidboot.selinux=permissive quiet SERIAL=random INSTALL=1 DEBUG=

64-bit:

/kernel initrd=/initrd.img root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_64 androidboot.selinux=permissive quiet SERIAL=random INSTALL=1 DEBUG=

I have installed Remix OS player v 3.0.307 on Windows 10 64 bit machine.  I am not dual-booting, just running an instance of the player on my PC.  I do not see a folder c:\boot\grub.

Any other areas you'd suggest to look?
