Goto browser and search Google Play Serivces. click the link to the store. and click update

check your date/time. deafult is "+00.00" that will cause an issue on server.

 u need to also manually reconnect to the internet each boot.

Neither helped. Installed Google Play Services again and its able to access the internet. However, an error shows up while trying to install apps and its not getting resolved using the steps mentioned in the posts above (Clearing data/cache).

This same for me. It doesn't work at all. Google Play hasn't shown in app drawer, but after reinstallation from standalone apk file, it's says that GP is already installed. Does anyone has idea what is going on? Why for some people it works and for others doesn't?

I've got the same issue.  I've got no Google Play app, no Application manager.  

My only options are Browser, Calculator, camera, clock, contacts, downloads, file manager Google Pinyin.., MX Player, Muisic, settings, and widgets.  

I can't even add my Google account when I go into Settings> Accounts.  When I click Add account, it just goes right back to where I can click Add account.  

I tried downloading the Google play apk, and it installs, but it doesn't show up anywhere for me to even try to open it.

I clicked the "Remix OS Version 2.0" in the About section and it said I'm available for the unstable update in system updates, but I can't even find where system updates is!

I login but it says I have it installed (must be because of it's the one I have on my cellphone). So, what should I do? In the app manager I can't follow the instructions you post before.

u need to install that APK file downloaded from dropbox. open the installed app, and download the Play services.

after that: settings -> Applications. find  Google Play Services and Google Service Framework in the list. Clear the Cache. further up the comments is XDA devs. 

some people are forgetting to go to the browser and search for the google play services, and update.

This is a PROVEN fix for all android setups.

This app is downloading 28MB from an extremely slow web server in China, I haven't managed to complete the download yet. The URL included in the application is this one:

So far, on the surface everything looks benign. I'm very interested in RemixOS so I'll continue analyzing and I'll start capturing packets on a continual basis and logging/analyzing data from the on-going live data streaming analysis. Has someone managed to get Remix OS on an ARM Device?

I use an Acer Chromebook CB5-311 with an TEGRA K1 CPU, which makes it a quite special device.

Not all things runs on that machine. On the Remix OS Website it is said, that it is for X86 Machines.

I've installed this twice now. Both times it seemed to work. Both times I ended up starting from scratch with a fresh 
OS install after the OS would no longer boot up. I'm done unless someone comes up with a better way.

I've done all the steps above and got it working but as soon as I reboot the machine and try to access Play Store again, it won't even log in and would say that there's an error retrieving information from the server. I've tried all troubleshooting steps to clear cache (and data) for Google Play Store, Google Play Services and Google Service Framework and have even tried to Uninstall Updates from Google Play Store to no avail. I might try deleting all Google Services and starting again to see.

I try remove the google account, and follow the step to clear data for google play store, google play services and google service framework.

then reboot and add google account again, use browser search google play services and update it

No sir/ma'am. Not working for me. Not sure which huge file to download: efi or legacy for windows so i downloaded both. none decompress onto USB. many errors. tried to burn iso file to DVD, that worked but Linix hangs on Android prompt screen after it asks you if you want to sign in as guest. 

Appears to me this software was never tested. The users who downloaded it simply the guinea pigs. It's a pity. Would've like to run Android on a x64 Win PC. Guess that's not going to happen, at least not with these bozos.

If you follow the steps to install to usb drive in fat32, then follow the steps to get the app store you eill have zero issues. Dont blame the devs for your incompetence.

I know that this is a alpha beta so I do not have problem to sleep about errors at this time. Still I try to get it working just because I want to try more of this e.g. use it for more than a fancy interface to look at.

Started with the first leaked relase from 12 of Jan. Got installation working at once and was impressed that it did find my wifi, keyboad, track point, touch pad etc on my Lenovo Thinkpad. As for many other I does fail on getting play store working and I have spend hours and hours on this forum and others to see if I can get a solution. To summarize what all recommend and many have got some success on is to download the goodle service installer, run it once, remove data from Google Play services (did not find it at once but it is there as a sub alternative) and Google frame work. I have done that several time now. Tried that with the app still on and with the app stopped. I have rebooted every time. I have by browser searched for Google Play service and by that triggered the update but at that stage it fails every time by not finding the update server :-(

Yesterday evening I tried to download the new EFI and Legacy update from 14 of Jan. I was not able to install the EFI upon the old Remix OS or on a clean USB but with the Legacy it was doable - but - I have the same problem. So I follow this discussion further on and hope that some one post some 'magic', else I probably have to wait for a new version release in the future that solves the problem

Keep up the good work Jide Technology. I know that we just looking for an embryo - but I really like it.

The key was, as stated in the link, to manually set the time zone in Remix. Before that I got "download failed" in Google Play.

So i never changed any of the date/time settings. the remixOS over using last 2 days i found to be somwwhat cumbersome. i know its ALPHA. and the 4GB limit is so ridiculous.

SO. if u want android properly on your PC, installed to HDD  http://www.android-x86.org/ has 4.4, 5.1.1 and 6.0.1 for install WITH playstore and is Google Approved for coding. so much easier. supports NTFS, FAT32 (doesnt save changes), EXT2/3/4.

Ill comeback to Remix in a few months. Im gladded people got my fix working.

and just a quick edit:

"Go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All" ignore the MANAGE APPS part.

Settings -> Applications -> "shows all apps". and clear cache's from there.. that was my bad.

I got the Google Play Services and Play Store up and running without problems now using Henrik Aldermo's given link. Although I did have the error download problem as some people have encountered when I tried to update the Google Play Services only to find out that it was updating itself because when I check the Play Store page of Google Play Services, the update button is no longer there, so I assumed it was auto updated. And as for time zone problem, it seems the default is GMT+0 if you set it to auto. What I did after Remix OS finish with 1st initialization, I directly change the time zone appropriate to my location and the problem with the Google Play Services disappear. It did cause a change of time in my Windows 7 when I changed the time zone in Remix OS (idk why) but now, I got all of the Android core stuffs working, installed MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint, worked without problems so far.

I use NTFS partition created using my laptop's internal HDD having 24GB data.img

The instructions seems to be for Linux users. Anyhow, I've got it working on a drive formatted as ext4. Only problem is what will happen when there's a new update because Windows doesn't see the ext4 partition in Windows explorer so I can't just copy files over. I'd have to install over the old files and that will undo all the changes that I've made (gapps etc)

I don't know how many times I have started from scratch installing the Google play services and followed the advice to put right time zone, cleared data in Google play services and Google Play framework with absolutely success, but they are many...

Suddenly I checked this link https://www.androidpit.com/install-google-play-services-apk and downloaded the APK that was pointed out for my PC e.g. Android version 5.1, X86 CPU and 'non specified DPI.
Now it is rock'n roll for me. Google Play services was updated and Google Play store works just fine.

Remix OS for PC is of course, as many have said many times, but it works pretty stable for me know and it fun to have Android in a PC. So far I have only installed instagram, Droxbox and a few more, but this looks good for a start....

Hey Tram. I referred to this link to create my 24GB data.img (you first need to have an existing data.img):

Afterwards, I created a 32GB NTFS partition in my laptop's internal HDD and then placed all the Remix OS stuffs (with the ISO itself) from USB with the 24GB data.img to the partition. I then used EasyBCD (v2.2) to create a boot entry for Remix OS, direct it to ISO and got it working.

I used this method on a 2008 Acer Laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo T9500 having ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 GPU and it also works on my other laptop which is a Samsung with i5-2450M having GT 520MX GPU.
