I'd like to know how can I place ppp widget 3 on my workspace, please.

I've instaled it and it has recognized my modem, but it doesn't work yet because I can't put ppp widget 3 on my workspace and I don't know how to do it...

Thanks.

Go to :  Settings -> Experimental Features -> Enable launcher file mode
Turn this setting OFF.

This will give you a more normal Android launcher with widgets.  The taskbar will be unchanged.

After that, if you want to download a stock launcher, go to app settings and disable Launcher3. Do this AFTER downloading your launcher, or Remix OS may crash.

Uhmm ... have you tried this?  When I tried to install another Launcher, I got a message that RemixOS doesn't support 3rd party launchers.   Switching off the file mode makes it similar enough to a stock launcher that I duno if I'd go through the trouble to install another.  Then again, my netbook isn't my main system.

I have. I got the Google Now Launcher. Remember, after downloading the launcher you want, disable both File launcher, and Launcher3 from the apps section in Settings. I forgot to mention this,  but you also have to search "Home" in settings, and click on the launcher you downloaded for it to appear.

Interesting.  I'll try this again later, but I couldn't even get the new Launcher to install the first time I tried - it would just say that RemixOS doesn't support 3rd party launchers.   I may give it a try again later.    Plus, I can always use the "root installer" feature of FX rather than the built-in installer as that should force it to install.

And thanks for the tip about using the Search to find Settings options that they have "disabled", although it appears this is very dangerous.  I just tried to set my WiFi as a metered network (satellite Internet) and the moment I touch the switch, the machine does a soft reboot!  Grrr ... why did Jide mss with stuff that works?

Try this: Re-enable both Launcher3 and File Launcher. Then Disable Launcher3 again, and install your launcher without disabling File Launcher. If the download works, then disable File Launcher. Remix OS will then have no choice but to use the launcher you installed, whether it's supported or not

Like I said, it was installing the launcher that was the problem.  If I can't get it to install, then there is no way I would disable the built-in launcher.   At this point, its not really a big deal, although I plan on creating my own launcher at some time in the future, and will be trying this then.   Until that time, this isn't a very high priority and I have other tasks to do.  I appreciate the info.

I have tried everything you people have said here but still tells me to place PPP widget in workspace first, at first even the launcher wasn't opening so I enabled it which at that time I thought was the problem but now that launcher is active,I still get the same block......am using Zen UI launcher

long press on a empty spot on your hpme screen, press on the widgets  icon; this will show any existing widgets, scroll through by swiping through them till you get to ppp, press on it and move to empty spot on home screen.
