Hi there guys..

I own a Cube iWork 10 Ultimate, a Windows 10 / Android 5.1.1 dual boot tablet PC.
It has an integrated bootloader which permits to choose between Widows or Android when you start the tablet.. I would like to try to install Remix OS there but I'm not sure what will happen to the original bootloader (something like GRUB)..

Do you have any suggestions for me, please?

From what I see into the BIOS, the start order here is:
1. first boot Android bootloader, which lets you choose if boot Android or Windows
2. choosing Android it go straight to Android
3. choosing Windows starts the Windows Launcher Manager (in my case only 1 Windows installation so it goes straight to Windows)

So would it maybe be possible to install Remix as third OS and choose it from Windows Launcher Manager without touching any other partition?

thanks guys, if you need any further info please ask.. see you!

That is not recommended. I would first delete the existing Android that's on the tablet before using Remix OS. Triple booting did not work for me.

You'd be fine just installing it via the Windows installer. It'll install grub as an additional bootloader and 'may' set itself as default - you can switch it back to WBM, but to boot it - via the boot via other device menues; so add another OS to WBM [i.e. add a Safe mode] so it doesn't autoboot straight to Windows.

Whether or not compatibily of Remix on your device is 100% you will have to determine yourself

yea that's what I meant..
BTW at the moment I have No Windows, only Android. The integrated bootloader starts but I have only the Android choice.
So I installed latest Remix OS to a 16 GB USB and booted it; well, not really compatible, it seems.. apart from freezes that I guess could hopefully disappear when installed into HD, the biggest issue was inverted touch screen! So I had to tap right of the screen to pick something on the left.. weird experience :D!

Touchscreen you can probably calibrate to correct it; and in the process generate a calibration file for your device and provide to Ax86/Jide so it's auto fixed for others.

Installing to the device without Windows would sort of depend on how your tab is partitioned at the minute.

thanks for you hint. sure I'll share the file from calibration if it works, but first could you please elaborate how to calibrate the touch?

As I said I'm a really lost when in Remix OS 3 because it's weird to use that way, so if you could elaborate steps and procedure it would be great! Or maybe link me something where I could learn it..

thanks a lot!

On a side note, is there some place where to download Remix OS 2? I read somewhere a few guys are using a ported Remix OS 2 rom into this tablet; well it's really a rom for another device but it work into ours too because of the same CPU, Intel Atom Cherry Trail one...
I would like to give a try to the official Remix OS 2 btw

Not 100% sure on the calibration, I thought you'd need to run a TSCalib apk - but it could be that it's actions have been added to another app [it might be an app that you'll need to harvest from an ax86 rom]

But 1st try - turning on console mode or opening terminal/termux issuing su to get root access then:
        mkdir -p /data/misc/tscal
        touch /data/misc/tscal/pointercal
        chown 1000.1000 /data/misc/tscal /data/misc/tscal/*
        chmod 775 /data/misc/tscal
        chmod 664 /data/misc/tscal/pointercal

and reboot to see if it's calibrated itself, if it does we can work out the product id that would need to be added to the system for it to auto-run the above.

I don't think official/generic 2.0 would be too much use to you, at least over official 3.0; the ported one probably would be though. You'd probably need to look on cube forums and needrom for the ROM to try though.

nope does not work.. :(

my CPU is x86_64 btw..

a user suggested me:

Try to replace libraries at:
/system/etc/firmware/
/system/etc/atoisp/
/system/vendor/firmware/
/system/usr/idc
/system/usr/icu

All xml in /system/etc/
And if it not work: /lib/hw/

But Remix doesn't even have those folders, it's much more similar to linux looking at the file tree than Android..
those stuff mentioned are all Intel proprietary blobs, so I guess I will not be able to go too far here! :(

That would be for making your own port, the filesystem is the same as any other Android some of the folders you mentioned are in /system/lib rather than /system/etc.

The the app here: https://onedrive.live.com/?id=26164E667290CA6A%2111300&cid=26164E667290CA6A and see if that runs & calibrates.
